I made these specially for the Upcyclers Etsy team! Their blog is here. The theme was red white and blues: a celebration of summer concerts. Since I've been making a lot of bottle cap earrings, I searched my stash for the perfect combo to make these earrings! I think they say summer and outdoors and good times. Right?

This is hands down one of the coolest things I have seen lately. It's like straight out of a sci fi novel or something. SOO awesome!

Salt Lovers Rejoice!

It turns out all that bad press about salt is exactly that: bad press!

There's a new article in Scientific American that reviews the data and finds that salt has been getting a bad rep all this time. The link between salt intake and blood pressure is a weak one at best.

This is good news for us salt lovers. While I agree that sometimes salt can overpower flavors in a meal, there is nothing better than that synergy only salt can create when melding flavors in a dish :)

Figured out yesterday how to save draft postings on Etsy - someone had mentioned to post more things on the weekend. I guess more people are shopping then?

But anyway, I posted some sweet earrings. These took a little longer to make, but I think I like them better because they are fancier and more dangly. I'm geting much better ideas about what to do with the bottlecaps lately, rather than just flattening them out like I used to do. Adding beads to dangle is a little tedious but also fun.

(An aside! Oh no, Georgie fell behind the tv!! Lets see if she can figure out how to get back out...)
